Responsibilities

  • Manage Day-Ahead energy and ancillary service bidding for the generation portfolio.
  • Execute precise physical energy and ancillary trade scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Real-Time Desk to maximize asset efficiency and performance.
  • Analyze demand patterns to develop daily mitigation strategies reducing risk.
  • Optimize energy storage assets on a daily/hourly basis.
  • Develop automated tools and workflows to accelerate daily decisions.

Are you ready to step into the fast-paced world of energy trading? If so, we are seeking a meticulous Energy Analyst! This is an opportunity to drive the Day-Ahead optimization for LCRA’s dynamic generation portfolio, from natural gas and coal to advanced energy storage and hydro assets. By synthesizing complex weather data, shifting customer demand, and evolving ERCOT market trends. How You’ll Contribute
  • Manage comprehensive Day-Ahead energy and ancillary service bidding for LCRA generation portfolio.
  • Execute precise physical energy and ancillary trade scheduling.
  • Partner with the Real-Time Desk to maximize asset efficiency and real-time performance.
  • Analyze customer demand patterns to formulate daily mitigation strategies that reduce financial and operational risks.
  • Optimize LCRA's energy storage assets on a daily and hourly basis.
  • Develop custom analytical tools and automated workflows to accelerate and refine daily decision-making.
How You’re Qualified
  • Six or more years' experience in energy analytics or relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in business, economics, engineering, mathematics or a relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
How You’ll Stand Out
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics or relevant field.
  • Experience in VBA, Excel, Python, Power BI, AI and other analytical tools.
  • Strong in quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong internal and external relationship skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
