Job summary

Cardenas Markets is hiring a Kitchen Cook to prepare and assemble quality foods in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes and labeling baked goods, while upholding core values and delivering friendly service.

The role requires cooking various items, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, weighing and labeling prepared foods, and handling customer orders with a team-oriented approach to daily operations.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Customer Service and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proven track of providing excellent results, shows persistence and perseverance.
• Demonstrates care and compassion for people; shows empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relates well to diverse people; is approachable.
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Follow recipe specifications and portion food products according to company standards.
• Maintains standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety.
• Fills and re-stocks front counter utensils, water sanitizer, vegetables, and drinks.
• Ensure all prepared food items are weighed, labeled, dated, packaged and rotated according to company standards.
• Follows procedures for voids, refunds, transaction cancellation and all saved recall transactions.
• Responsible for personal Cashier Productivity.
• Takes food orders in person and by telephone.
• All other duties as assigned.
