Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA seeks an energetic group fitness instructor to lead engaging and safe wellness classes in a welcoming community setting.

You will hold CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, maintain class records, and promote healthy living in alignment with YMCA policies. Prior experience in group wellness is preferred, with readiness to obtain YMCA certifications within 60 days.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required or eligible.
• Certification in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support goals related to healthy living and wellness trends.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and helps them connect with the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
• Other duties as assigned.
