Job summary

Clemson University’s Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences seeks applicants for the Gregory Distinguished Endowed Professorship in Urban Entomology, a 12-month, tenure-track associate professor position located on the main campus in Clemson, SC.

The appointment will combine Extension (60%) and research (40%), lead statewide, science-based pest management programs for urban and built environments, and involve teaching and graduate student mentorship.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Entomology or a closely related discipline is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to pesticides and pest management, and ability to obtain extramural funding.

Responsibilities

• Develop a state-wide, science-based program for urban pest management and training.
• Lead Extension outreach and training programs for pest management professionals.
• Chair or serve on graduate committees and supervise thesis and dissertations; publish Extension and research findings.
