Qualifications

• Earned PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or closely related field by time of appointment.
• Proven record of high-quality scholarly research with publications in relevant fields.
• Ability to establish externally funded research program at a research-intensive (R1) institution.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in data science, AI, machine learning, and closely related areas.
• Proven ability to develop and collaborate with industry partners on industry-relevant projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with mentoring of students at multiple levels.
• Commitment to mentoring undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-impact, externally funded research program in data science.
• Teach a two-course-per-semester load (2-2) in undergraduate and graduate data science.
• Mentor graduate students, supervise theses/dissertations, and engage in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
• Pursue external funding from federal agencies, foundations, and industry sponsors.
• Engage in departmental, college, and university service; contribute to curriculum innovation.
