Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering or closely related field.
• Tenured appointment at Associate or Full Professor or equivalent senior position in industry, national lab, or a research institute.
• Record of external research funding as principal investigator.

Responsibilities

• Develop an externally-funded research program in Biomedical Engineering and lead large, multi-investigator or center-level initiatives.
• Contribute to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and develop creative new curricula, including courses for the 2027 academic program.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students as well as junior faculty.
• Provide meaningful service to the department, college, university and external communities through committees and governance.
• Engage in collaborations with UMass Chan Medical School and regional hospitals.
