Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ patient care and/or hospital patient experience, or currently enrolled in endoscopy technician program.
• Basic Life Support.

Aufgaben

• Set up equipment pre-procedure.
• Assist with specimen collections intra-procedure.
• Assist intra-procedure under the direction of the physician and collaboratively with the RN.
• Knowledgeable of proper handling of scopes, light sources, video processor and ancillary equipment.
• Transport used equipment post-procedure to the reprocessing room.
• Clean equipment in conjunction with CDC, AAMI and Joint Commission standards on flexible scopes.
• Assist with mechanical cleaning and disinfection of endoscopic equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain records/logs for sterilization and disinfection processes for endoscopic equipment and scopes.
• Prioritize cleaning based on procedure scheduling for the day.
• Multitask across multiple procedure rooms as needed.
• Work on travel cases throughout the hospital as assigned.
• Maintain adequate supply of chemicals and equipment for reprocessing.
• Support departmental initiatives and room turnover to optimize efficiency.
• Communicate openly with coworkers about new and relevant information.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
