Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist in coordinating care and supporting procedures in the endoscopy suite. You will prepare and maintain equipment, ensure sterility, and assist with invasive endoscopic procedures.

The role requires readiness to rotate shifts and take on-call assignments, with emphasis on sterile technique and instrument handling in a fast-paced operating room setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous OR or Endoscopy Unit experience preferred.
• GI Tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of care in the endoscopy department.
• Prepare, maintain, and clean equipment and supplies for procedures.
• May assist in performing invasive endoscopic procedures.
• Rotate shifts and participate in on-call assignments.
• Maintain sterile fields and assist during endoscopy; know endoscopy instruments.

Summary:
Assists with the coordination of care for patients in the endoscopy department. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and supplies and may assist in performing invasive endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides various service related activities to the delivery of direct and assistive patient care in the endoscopy service of the operating room prior to and during any endoscopic procedure.
• Required to rotate shifts and accept on-call assignments.
• Adept at establishing and maintaining sterile fields, ability to pull cases, capable in assisting for endoscopy procedures.
• Knowledge of sterilization concepts and methods, aseptic techniques and endoscopy instruments.

Education/Skills

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

• Previous experience working in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit preferred
• GI Tech experience preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required
• GI certification from SGNA Associates preferred
