CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist in coordinating care in the endoscopy department. The role involves preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies, and may assist in invasive endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities include rotating shifts, on-call assignments, and maintaining sterile fields to support safe endoscopy procedures in the operating room.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • GI Tech experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides service activities to support direct and assistive patient care in the endoscopy service of the operating room prior to and during any endoscopic procedure.
  • Required to rotate shifts and accept on-call assignments.
  • Adept at establishing and maintaining sterile fields and able to assist for endoscopy procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterilization concepts, aseptic techniques and endoscopy instruments.

It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

  • The Pavilion and North Tower house a state-of-the‑art emergency department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, and surgical suites

Assists with the coordination of care for patients in the endoscopy department. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and supplies and may assist in performing invasive endoscopic procedures.

  • Provides various service related activities to the delivery of direct and assistive patient care in the endoscopy service of the operating room prior to and during any endoscopic procedure.
  • Required to rotate shifts and accept on‑call assignments.
  • Adept at establishing and maintaining sterile fields, ability to pull cases, capable in assisting for endoscopy procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterilization concepts and methods, aseptic techniques and endoscopy instruments.
Education/Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
  • Previous experience working in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit preferred
  • GI Tech experience preferred
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • BLS required
  • GI certification from SGNA Associates preferred
