Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to assist with patient care in the endoscopy suites, under physician and registered nurse supervision. The role involves preparing equipment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring sterile techniques throughout the patient journey.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years in endoscopy, a high school diploma or GED, and licensure requirements including a pending Endoscopy Technician Certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience preferred.
• Endoscopy Technician Certification preferred; certification required within one year of hire.
• Registered Medication Aid licensure in applicable state required.
• Has knowledge and skills to modify care for age-specific needs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with the patient experience from pre- through post-procedure.
• Assist in room turnaround and cleaning of equipment and environment.
• Assist during endoscopy procedures under physician/ RN supervision.
