Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA is hiring a GI Endoscopy Technician. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager in the Endoscopy Room, assist with nursing care coordination, and help prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment and supplies for procedures.

You will disinfect and decontaminate scopes, document high-level disinfection, handle specimens, assist physicians, and support cost containment through efficient supply use.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year related experience is preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification is required upon hire.
• Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy Training (GET) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and maintenance of endoscopic equipment, instrumentation and supplies.
• Set up and break down for endoscopy procedures (Colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy).
• Ensure sterility of the procedure area and proper disinfection of scopes.
• Disinfects scopes per protocol and follows OSHA, CDC, and other guidelines.
• Assist physicians and collaborate with the endoscopy team to support patient care.
