Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support the Endoscopy department in an in-person capacity. You will prepare the Endoscopy suite, assist physicians, manage scope reprocessing, and handle specimens for the laboratory, while maintaining strict adherence to sterilization and safety standards.

The role emphasizes accurate supply accounting, patient positioning, and daily operation of department equipment under ASGE, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Surgical Technologist Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepares Endoscopy suite with solutions, scopes, equipment and supplies; ensures good working order of scopes and equipment.
• Validates complete and current reprocessing of the scope for every procedure.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, and positioning patients.
• Passes scopes and supplies to assist the physician during endoscopy procedures.
• Continually accounts use of supplies during endoscopy procedures.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and high level disinfection of scopes and other patient care equipment per guidelines.
• Operates departmental equipment daily per manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Processes and documents all scopes and supplies using indicators to verify sterility per instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing per manufacturer instructions and documentation.

How you'll contribute

AnEndoscopy Technician,who excels in this role:

• Prepares Endoscopy suite with solutions, scopes, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of scopes and equipment.

• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and high level disinfection of scopes and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, ASGE, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Processes and documents all scopes and supplies using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation as required.
