Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to support reprocessing of endoscopes and assist in ambulatory care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes safe handling, accurate documentation, and maintaining a clean, efficient procedure environment.

Under supervision, you will help prepare patients, transport them safely, and participate in continuous quality improvement for endoscope reprocessing, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• Bachelor of Science Degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains competencies in the reprocessing of endoscopes and operating the scope washers.
• Identifies actual or potential problems with the integrity of the endoscopes and assists the charge nurse in orchestrating repair.
• Maintains documentation regarding the inventory and repair of endoscopes.
• Uses proper patient identification procedures in transporting of patients.
• Safely transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Expedites on-time starts and efficient turnover between procedures and maintains knowledge of endotherapy supplies and equipment.
• Locates, obtains, and restocks supplies and equipment.
• Performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of a physician and/or nurse.
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
• Assists the nurse in the preparation of the patient prior to and after the procedure.
