Job summary

Ochsner Health in Baton Rouge seeks an Endoscopy Support Technician to assist physicians during GI procedures, understand anatomy and physiology basics, and ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopes and related equipment.

Required: high school diploma and BLS certification; preferred experience with endoscopic procedures and CER/CFER/CBSPD credentials; must have strong communication, organization, and travel between facilities with a flexible schedule.

This job assists in procedures competently and professionally, understands the basic principles of anatomy and physiology associated with GI procedures, and ensures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Education

• Required - High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

• Preferred - Experience with endoscopic procedures.

Certifications

• Required - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred - Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Certification obtained through IAHCSMM, Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER), Certification obtained through CBSPD (within 2 years of hire or transfer).

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
