Job summary

St. Luke's Health–Sugar Land Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to provide technical support during endoscopic procedures and ensure patient safety.

You will prepare, maintain, and sterilize endoscopy equipment, assist physicians, and keep rooms ready while documenting activities precisely in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School GED or diploma required.
• Four years patient care experience, including one year as Endoscopy Tech.
• Basic Life Support - CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and sterilize endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Assist physicians during procedures and prepare rooms; document details.
• Maintain accurate records of scope cleaning, reprocessing steps, and disinfection.
• Assist with scope repair, loaners, and training of staff as needed.
• Support unit in assessing equipment needs and communicate changes to leadership.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Endoscopy Tech, you will provide crucial technical support during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency.

Every day you will meticulously prepare, maintain, and sterile process endoscopy equipment, assist physicians during procedures, and prepare rooms while maintaining accurate documentation.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail in sterile processing, and collaborative skills in a fast-paced clinical setting, contributing to positive patient outcomes.

• Perform tech 1 duties
• Daily accountability of available scopes, equipment, and supplies for use, assist with scope repair and loaner process (in the absence of the lead or tech supervisor or as designated by the unit leadership)
• Accurate record keeping and maintenance of scope cleaning and reprocessing steps and equipment disinfection/sterilization process. Able to assist and identify air scope repair and loaners process in the absence of the lead or tech supervisor, or as designated by the unit leadership.
• Plays a supportive role in assessing needs of unit for changing par levels of equipment and accessories and relaying such information in a timely manner to the lead or tech supervisor and or unit leadership.
• Assists with in servicing staff on all new equipment and accessories, as well as helping to in-service staff on other equipment and procedures as needed. Assist with annual competencies of endoscopy staff.
• Assists with initiation and follow up of scope washer maintenance...i.e. solution checks, solution and filter changes.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School GED or
• High School Graduate
• Four (4) Years of patient care experience, of which one (1)year as an Endoscopy Tech
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Pay Range

$22.51 - $31.79 /hour
