Job summary

Dignity Health - Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to support endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficient room turnover.

You will prepare, maintain and sterile-process endoscopy equipment, assist physicians during procedures, and document activities, while adhering to sterile processing standards and collaborating with the nursing team in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required.
• 2 years of Endoscopy Tech experience is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment/Observation: Under the direct supervision of the RN, participate in ongoing data collection for the Endoscopy patient.
• Implementation of Care: Implement the plan of care under the direction of the RN.
• Planning: Collaborate on developing the patient's plan of care under the RN's direction.
• Evaluation: Under the RN's direction, participate in evaluating and documenting patient responses to interventions.
• Professional Development: Recognize learning needs and assist peers to maximize professional development and Endoscopy practice.
• Leadership: Demonstrate responsibility awareness and act as a role model for peers and team members.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As an Endoscopy Tech, you will provide crucial technical support during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency.

Every day you will meticulously prepare, maintain, and sterile process endoscopy equipment, assist physicians during procedures, and prepare rooms while maintaining accurate documentation.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail in sterile processing, and collaborative skills in a fast-paced clinical setting, contributing to positive patient outcomes.

• Patient Assessment/Observation: Under the direct supervision or the RN will participate in the continuous collection of data of the Endoscopy patient.
• Implementation of Care: Implements the plan of care under the direction of the RN
• Planning: Collaborates with the development of the patients plan of care under the direction of the RN.
• Evaluation: Under the direction of the RN, participates in evaluating and documenting the patients response to nursing/medical intervention
• Professional Development: Recognizes his/her own learning needs and those of peers, and assist in meeting those needs to maximize professional development and optimal Endoscopy practice.
• Leadership: Demonstrates an awareness of his/her responsibilities to be a role model for peers and team members.
