Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the Endoscopy team. You will prepare operating rooms, maintain sterile technique, and support procedures alongside the circulating nurse.

You will verify sites, assist with patient transport, gather equipment, scrub in, and pass instruments to surgeons, ensuring uninterrupted procedures. Day shift, full-time with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa
• LPN license required if LPN program graduate
• Prior endoscopy/GI experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team in Endoscopy by prepping rooms and supporting procedures
• Verify surgical site, assist with patient transport, and prepare pre-operative site
• Scrub in, don sterile gown and gloves, and maintain sterile field
• Instrument surgical cases, pass instruments, and anticipate needs
• Count sponges, sharps, and instruments per policy
• Prep and drape patients and gown gloves for team
• Ensure equipment functions and report malfunctions
