Job summary

This PRN position requires call responsibility (every 9th day) and holiday coverage; flexibility for float between procedure and pre/post care; strong adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards; opportunities to educate

Qualifications

• RN - Registered Nurse license required or state licensure/compact licensure
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS preferred; PALS and NRP preferred as applicable
• Endoscopy nursing experience or exposure is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of nursing process and patient care standards

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process and organizational protocols.
• Documents findings and reports changes in condition to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for adverse effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans with the care team.
• Provides patient and family education on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and safety standards and participates in quality improvement.
• Engages in performance improvement initiatives and data collection.
• Endoscopy RN duties: assess needs, obtain consent, monitor vitals during procedures, provide post-procedure care.
