Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Southwest seeks an experienced Endoscopy/GI/Pre-op/PACU RN to join a collaborative team. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient-focused, and able to work with minimal supervision. The role is full-time and located in Houston, Texas.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, TX RN license, 2+ years OR experience in GI/Endoscopy, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum of two (2) years OR experience assisting GI/Endoscopy procedures.
• Current Texas Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• CNOR preferred.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Knowledgeable of OR policies and procedures.
• Proficient in pediatric to geriatric OR nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide OR nursing care for GI/Endoscopy procedures.
• Support Pre-op and PACU processes for endoscopy cases.
• Collaborate with physicians and the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
• Deliver patient-centered care with minimal supervision.

Required Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum of two (2) years previous OR experience assisting with GI/Endoscopy procedures.
• Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse.
• Current in BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
• CNOR preferred
• Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
• Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse.
• Clinically proficient in operating room nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
