Job summary

Wake Endoscopy – Raleigh is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient endoscopy team. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care in the preoperative and postoperative areas, collaborating with anesthesia providers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina or valid multistate license with NC authorization.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification or able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
• Capable of independent and collaborative work in a fast-paced setting.
• Able to respond effectively to patient changes and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative nursing assessments and review histories.
• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, obtain vitals, establish IVs, and document.
• Develop and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide postoperative care and monitor airway, vitals, and recovery.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Assess discharge readiness and provide discharge instructions.
• Administer medications per orders and policies.
• Supervise and delegate to LPNs and staff as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards.
• Support efficient patient flow and daily operations with the team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe care environment.
