Job summary

McLaren in Michigan seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy department. The role delivers quality nursing care using the nursing process and collaborates with the health-care team to uphold professional standards.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and accurate documentation. The nurse coordinates care, supports discharge planning, and serves in a day-shift, full-time capacity in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS and/or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
• Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Administers medications according to hospital policy and procedure, documenting route, dose and time.
• Provides direct patient care including therapeutic treatments and diagnostic procedures according to patient and family needs.
• Directs, coordinates and delegates activities to foster patient / family centered care.
• Gives/receives reports on patients and ensures continuity of care.
• Oversees nursing care of all assigned patients and ensures documentation is complete.
• Leads and coordinates patient care activities in designated unit-based geographical assignment.
• Monitors care given and completes relevant information; supports discharge planning.
