Job summary

GastroCare Physicians of Georgia in Madison is seeking a part-time RN to assist with patient care in a specialized ambulatory surgery center. Responsibilities include conducting pre-procedure assessments, providing post-procedure recovery care, and monitoring patient conditions. Must hold a current Georgia RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications.

The position offers a supportive team environment without weekends or major holidays. Ideal candidates will have previous experience with endoscopy or similar procedures.

Qualifications

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform pre-procedure assessments and ensure patient readiness


• Provide post-procedure (Phase II recovery) care and discharge patients appropriately


• Administer medications in accordance with provider orders and scope of practice


• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly


• Collaborate with the anesthesia provider and physician to support safe and efficient procedures


• Maintain procedural flow and assist with room turnover as needed


• Complete accurate and timely documentation


• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and discharge instructions

Clinical Expectations

• Demonstrates the ability to work independently within a procedural setting


• Maintains awareness of patient flow and prioritizes tasks accordingly


• Contributes to a coordinated, team-based approach to patient care


• Supports a professional, efficient, and respectful work environment

Additional Responsibilities

• Rotate between pre-operative care, recovery, and procedural support as needed


• Maintain awareness of endoscope handling and workflow processes


• Demonstrates willingness to support endoscope reprocessing activities following appropriate training

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license required (LPN considered with relevant experience; RN preferred)


• BLS certification – Required


• ACLS certification – Required


• Minimum one (1) year nursing experience


• Endoscopy, ASC, or procedural experience strongly preferred
