Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Endoscopy Center RN to provide specialized nursing care across all endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will assess patients pre-procedure, assist during endoscopy, monitor sedation and vital signs, and deliver comprehensive post-procedure education.

Responsibilities include room preparation, equipment readiness, charting in the EMR, and participating in quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes across procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• One year of related work experience in an acute care setting (Med/Surg, ICU, PACU, or GI strongly preferred).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification; ACLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Pre-procedure assessment and data collection for endoscopic procedures.
• Assist physicians during endoscopy and ensure sterile environment.
• Monitor vital signs and sedation levels; manage post-procedure care and education.
• Maintain documentation in the patient’s EMR.
• Support time-out and pre-procedure checklists; ensure equipment readiness.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and patient safety.
