Job summary

Pacific Medical Centers (PacMed) is seeking a hands-on MA to provide direct patient care under RN and Physician supervision in the GI setting. You will assist with diagnostic procedures, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a safe, regulatory-compliant environment while building positive relationships with patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 2 years medical setting experience.

  • Assists Gastroenterology physician and RN during diagnostic procedures.
  • Responds to emergency situations as directed and per patient needs.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patient and staff by adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Takes responsibility for quality assurance, infection control, staff and self-development.
  • Supports a learning environment and demonstrates commitment to PacMed's mission and values.

Job description

Administers direct hands‑on patient care under the supervision of RN and Provider. Assists the Gastroenterology physician and RN during diagnostic procedures. Responds to emergency situations as directed and per the needs of the patient. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards for the ASC. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co‑workers. Takes responsibility for quality assurance, infection control, staff and self‑development. Supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of PacMed and its values.

Required Qualifications
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of PMC MA Module Training, verified by Trainer, Supervisor, Provider and Clinic Supervisor, resulting in PMC MA Certification.
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of the SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) Associates program.
  • 2 years Medical setting.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
