Texas Children’s Hospital Austin is seeking an experienced physician with a proven clinical and leadership track record to serve as the Medical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology in Austin, Texas.

The Department of Endocrinology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Austin is looking for an exceptional provider to serve as an Endocrinology Leader, within our highly respected department.

Texas Children’s provides trusted care to children and adolescents. We offer support, resources, education, and tools to help providers deliver the best patient care possible. As the largest pediatric hospital in the nation, we administer primary, specialty, urgent, and emergency medical care across more than 40 pediatric subspecialties. Our physicians refer many challenging cases from around the world, creating a rich learning environment. We utilize cutting-edge methodologies and state-of-the-art resources to ensure quality care for our patients.

Set to open in early 2024, our new state-of-the-art hospital in Austin will increase access to healthcare for children and women across central Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in the start, growth, and expansion of a new medical facility and campus, supported by a nationally ranked Children’s Hospital.

Position Highlights:

Join our nationally recognized team as we seek to hire a full-time clinical leader (Medical Director) in Pediatric Endocrinology at our new Austin location:

• Provide leadership, support quality and safety, and maintain clinical excellence and innovation within the division.
• Oversee the opening and growth of the new facility.
• Treat pediatric endocrinology patients.
• Lead research and treatment programs, including those related to cutaneous complications of treatment.
• Be part of the founding physicians of a new medical facility, with support from Texas Children’s Hospital.
• Develop academic and research programs within the new campus.

• Engage in non-clinical leadership roles across other medical areas.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a pediatric medical center or specialty care unit handling complex pediatric cases.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary pediatric care, including NICU, PICU, and critical care settings, along with current research and innovations.
• All experience levels encouraged to apply; the facility will ramp up quickly.
• An academic record suitable for appointment as an assistant or associate professor is preferred but not required.
• Participation in research and publications relevant to pediatric endocrinology is desirable.
• Spirit of innovation, flexibility, and readiness to build and grow a new facility.
• MD, DO, or equivalent degree; Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology; eligibility for Texas medical licensure.
