Job summary

InterMed in Portland, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant to support primary and specialty outpatient care. The MA will work under a licensed clinician, gather patient data, perform clinical tasks, and coordinate care with various teams to ensure high-value, patient-centered service.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program, CMA/RMA certification preferred, and BLS within 6 weeks. Experience with EMR and Windows applications is favorable.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Associate's degree program preferred.
• 0+ years of experience.
• Current CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• BLS required within 6 weeks of hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and updates patient information and vital signs.
• Performs clinical tasks as directed by licensed clinician; medication and/or vaccine administration.
• Performs diagnostic screenings and prepares specimens for testing.
• Sets up and assists with in-office clinical procedures.
• Maintains clinical equipment and supplies; rotation, stocking and cleaning.
• Documents accurately into patients’ chart and supports scheduling/outreach.
• Coordinates patient care with in-house specialties and community resources.
