Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC is seeking an experienced structural engineer to own end-to-end marine vessel design from concept to sea trials. You will perform FEA for stress, fatigue, buckling, and load cases, and work with composite and metallic materials to optimize weight, strength, manufacturability, and cost.

Collaborate with fabricators, shipyards, and cross-functional teams, lead prototype fabrication and testing, and drive design iterations based on test results and root-cause analyses.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of structural/mechanical/marine engineering experience.
• Hands-on hardware ownership, FEA, CAD, and structural DFM.
• Experience with marine/USV/ASV, composite, aerospace, robotics, or other demanding hardware is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end structural design and development of marine vessels from concept to sea trials.
• Perform structural analysis and FEA for stress, fatigue, buckling, impact, shock, and load cases.
• Lead prototype fabrication, structural testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and design iterations.
• Support sea trials and correlate analysis with test results.
