Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to own the full product development lifecycle for electronic and electrical products from concept through production release. This hands-on role includes schematic creation, prototyping, and design iteration to deliver manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• BSEE, BSET or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in electrical design engineering, ideally for consumer products.
• Strong schematic reading and proficiency with design tools (simulation, CAD).
• Hands-on experience taking products from napkin sketch to manufacturable design.
• Solid grasp of financial modeling and NPD processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronic/electrical design from concept to production, including schematic creation and prototyping.
• Build and manage project timelines, budgets and quality targets independently.
• Design, fabricate, and evaluate rapid and conventional prototypes for performance and reliability.
• Write product specifications, test plans and verification documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, competitive testing and design qualifications.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic issues during development and post-production.
• Generate ECOs and maintain engineering documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, and suppliers on tooling and capacity planning.
