Job summary

magniX is seeking a Mechanical/Thermal Engineer to design a new 800V battery-based power supply enclosure for datacenter racks. You will own enclosure design, thermal strategy, and serviceability requirements, working with a cross-functional battery systems team.

Lead mechanical qualification testing and collaborate on thermal interfaces between cells, modules, and enclosure, focusing on air- or liquid-cooled systems for continuous-duty operation in datacenters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in thermal management and mechanical packaging of power electronics or battery systems.
• Experience with air- and liquid-cooling system design.
• Familiarity with high-power-density enclosure design and thermal simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design a new enclosure and mechanical packaging for the battery pack and power converter to meet datacenter rack space, weight, and access constraints.
• Develop thermal management strategy (air- or liquid-cooled) for continuous-duty operation in a datacenter environment.
• Lead integration planning with rack-level airflow, cooling, and maintenance/service access requirements.
• Work with the Battery Systems Engineer on thermal interface requirements between cells, modules, and enclosure.
• Lead mechanical qualification testing (vibration, shock, ingress protection) for stationary use.
