Job description

Encapsulation Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining encapsulation machinery to ensure efficient production of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate encapsulation machinery competently, both independently and within a team environment.
  • Set up, operate, disassemble, clean, and sanitize equipment according to SOPs.
  • Examine materials, ingredients, and products visually or manually to ensure conformance with SOPs and compliance with standards.
  • Record entries of each step upon completion and maintain the Batch Production Record at all times.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting on equipment and process-related issues and repairs.
  • Conduct in-process checks, such as average weight and individual capsule weight.
  • Verify calibration status of weighing scales and inform the Manufacturing Manager if out of date.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Encapsulation Room.
  • Inspect Capsules for physical defects (dents, splits, holes) throughout the compression run. Also, check for color variation in the fill material.
  • Maintain online documentation in all encapsulation operations, including the Encapsulation Machine, Capsule Polisher, and Metal Detector.
  • Check and review batch records for accuracy.
  • Identify and segregate rejected blends and capsules from good capsules.
  • Inform the Manufacturing Manager of any issues during the encapsulation process, including abnormal machine operation.
  • Document encapsulation process information as per SOP.
  • Charge the encapsulation machine with empty capsules and blend, then transfer polished and metal-detected capsules into drums.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 6-12 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have two-piece hard-shell capsule Manufacturing Experience.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong motivation, organization, time management, documentation, and both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong work ethic, including punctuality, dependability, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and to write professional correspondences as needed.
  • Effective presentation skills for one-on-one and small group settings; able to communicate and handle conflict professionally.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Compliance with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies; required PPE will be provided and must be worn to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Must pass any required examinations necessary for essential job functions.
Working hours & Benefits:
  • Working hours: full-time from 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM (including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break), Monday to Friday.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation a year.
  • 7 National days off.

Salary: $20 - $30 per hour, depending on candidate experience.
