Job summary

Russell Standard in Akron, OH, seeks a Plant Operator to support day-to-day production in an asphalt emulsions facility. You will open/close valves, perform routine maintenance, operate equipment, and assist with quality checks while maintaining safety practices.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, solid math/reading, and 2 years’ production/maintenance or related industry experience, or completion of a mechanical/industrial program. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong math/reading and ability to understand technical manuals.
• 2 years production/maintenance or oil and gas industry experience, or completion of related trade program.
• Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes valves for product transfers.
• Performs preventative maintenance of pump and valve systems.
• Operates equipment.
• Inspects tanks periodically.
• Troubleshoots plant systems.
• Weighs trucks pre- and post-loading.
• Loads emulsion trucks.
• General labor.
• Follows all safety policies and practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
