Job summary

Onsite Innovations is seeking an experienced EMT for a PRN position to support our onsite clinic network at client construction sites across the city. The EMT will deliver emergency care, conduct triage, and support daily clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must hold an EMT (or Advanced EMT) credential, CPR/First Aid, and be able to work day shifts or a 5pm-2am shift on at least one site. DOT and non-DOT testing may be included, with hospital transfers arranged as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification as a Nationally Registered EMT or Advanced EMT.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical and trauma care at client construction-site clinics.
  • Perform triage and urgent care following established protocols.
  • Administer medications and DME as ordered by clinician and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and clean clinic area; ensure daily operations.
  • Communicate with medical staff to arrange transfers and coordinate patient care.

Job description

Onsite Innovations is now hiring an experienced and self-driven Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for a PRN (as-needed) position. This role will provide healthcare support at our onsite healthcare clinic located at our client's construction sites across the city.

Clinic hours (as-needed): Day shift M-F (also one site has a 5pm-2am shift)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will be responsible for providing emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Perform triage and provide urgent care to patients. Deliver high-quality patient care in line with established protocols. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment ensuring every patient is treated with quality clinical care and is provided a welcoming and respectful experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • May perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing - training provided
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing
  • May be required to perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) - training provided
  • Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of patient, and knowledge of emergency medical practice
  • Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as needed
  • May assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care.
  • Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician and in accordance with state regulations and standing orders
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment potentially performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen or intravenous injections, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation
  • At the direction of the Center Medical Director, communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of patients at treatment facility
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
  • Maintain supplies, clean equipment and onsite clinic.
  • Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
  • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
  • Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required
  • Assist client with wellness activities
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility

Education/Credentials

Education Level:High School Diploma or GED

Major

Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Certifications and/or Licenses
  • Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications a plus
  • OSHA safety certifications or experience a plus
  • Must meet credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations
