Job summary

Narberth Ambulance seeks a highly capable paramedic to join our team. You will provide advanced life support and prehospital care, utilizing defibrillators, ECGs, and IV/medication administration under physician direction, while coordinating with dispatch and EMS partners.

The ideal candidate maintains calm under pressure, demonstrates critical thinking in emergencies, and holds EMT-Paramedic certification with ACLS and PALS, plus CPR and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid EMT-Paramedic certification or EMS license.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
• CPR certification is required.
• A clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer advanced life support, first-aid treatment, and other forms of prehospital care.
• Operate equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and ECGs.
• Assess patient condition and begin appropriate medical procedures.
• Drive the mobile intensive care unit to locations per EMS dispatch.
• Document patient injuries and conditions and report to physicians.
• Decontaminate the ambulance after transporting patients with infectious disease; report to authorities as needed.
• Administer drugs under physician direction via injection, IV, or oral routes.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, fire department, police, and EMS team members to ensure proper care.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer advanced life support, first-aid treatment, and other forms of prehospital emergency care to people who are injured or sick.
• Operate equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms for advanced life support applications.
• Assess patients' injury severity and the type and quickly begin appropriate medical procedures.
• Drive the mobile intensive care unit to a predetermined location under the instructions of the emergency medical dispatcher.
• Assess, record, and discuss patient injuries and conditions with the physician, including any treatments provided and reactions to treatments or drugs.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after transporting or treating any patient with infectious disease. Report infectious diseases to relevant authorities.
• Administer drugs as appropriate and necessary via injection, intravenous procedures, or oral administration under the direction of a physician.
• Communicate and coordinate with dispatchers, fire department personnel, police, and other emergency medical team members as needed to ensure that all applicable personnel is prepared to receive the patient and ensure proper treatment.
