Job summary

Medcor is seeking an experienced EMT or Paramedic to serve as a Worksite Health Technician on our Mobile Unit in San Jose, California. This PRN/as-needed role supports day-to-day operations with variable hours, usually 6:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, depending on client needs.

You will provide patient care, manage workers’ compensation cases, facilitate RTW programs, perform drug screens and fit testing, and maintain medical charts following Medcor’s Care Protocols.

Qualifications

  • Current EMT-B (or higher) license with no restrictions.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in a construction environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care and routine clinics within Medcor’s mobile unit.
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and RTW program facilitation.
  • Conduct drug screens and fit testing as required.
  • Maintain medical charts and documentation per MCPs.
  • Collaborate with medical/operational leadership and client staff daily.

Medcor is looking to hire an experienced EMT or Paramedic to be an Onsite Health Technician for our Mobile Unit in San Jose, California . This is a PRN (as-needed) position and advocates can expect to work from 6:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday variable hours (upwards of 8 - 12 hour days) when they have availability. Available hours are subject to vary based on client needs.

Applicants should have a clean driving record, must be feel comfortable working in a construction environment, should be able to climb stairs and work at heights if needed.

The position’s responsibilities include collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, with key contacts within the client’s corporate structure. The day-to-day role of the Worksite Health Technician includes patient care, ongoing workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, treatment plan monitoring, drug screens and fit testing.
A typical day in the life of a Worksite Health Technician

  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s mobile clinic
  • Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
  • A fully equipped van is provided, with considerable driving in San Jose, CA
  • Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Pre-employment and post-offer drug screenings
  • Medical charting

You Must

  • LOVE what you do
  • Have a current EMT-B (or higher) license, with no restrictions
  • Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Have current CPR/BLS
  • Be strong enough to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
  • Possess excellent verbal / written communication skills
  • Have a positive and outgoing personality
  • Be willing to go above and beyond just because that’s who you are
  • Be passionate about people and giving them the best care humanly possible
  • Be able to have fun

It's a Plus If

  • You are comfortable working in a construction environment
  • You are good with computers and some familiarity with EMR software
  • You have experience in emergency medicine or critical care
