Job summary

Inspira Health Network seeks an EMT to join the Emergency Medical Services team. The EMT will provide prehospital care and transport to patients within the DEMS system and assist with inter-facility transfers as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a NJ Emergency Medical Technician certification, current BLS, and a valid NJ driver’s license. Preference for those with PHTLS/PEEP and prior experience.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (NJ) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prehospital care and transport to patients in the DEMS system.
• Perform inter-facility transport as directed and assist mutual aid when requested.

MAJOR FUNCTION:The Department of Emergency Medical Services Emergency Medical Technician (DEMS/EMT) provides prehospital care and/or transport to individuals of sudden illness or injury in the designated service and hospitals areas of the DEMS system. The DEMS/EMT will provide inter-facility transport to those individuals needing movement between healthcare facilities as directed. The DEMS/EMT will provide appropriate mutual aid assistance when requested by adjacent services when appropriate.The EMT demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all ages, inclusive of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Additionally, the EMT demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to access data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to his or her age-specific needs.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Preference will be given to those with prior work experience.Certification/Licensure:The employee will be a certified Emergency Medical Technician as recognized by the New Jersey State Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, as defined by N.J.A.C.
