Job summary

AdventHealth Davenport is seeking a dedicated patient care teammate to assist with daily nursing tasks and patient support. The role involves vital sign checks, blood glucose monitoring, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities include timely rounds, notifying nurses of changes, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. The position is full-time with daytime to evening hours and requires EMT or related certification per facility guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical/vocational training preferred.
• EMT or Paramedic certification required/preferred per role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records pain rating, weight, height, intake and output, and finger stick blood glucose.
• Assists patients with ADLs, including meals and hydration, with hourly rounding and call-light response.
• Maintains a clean, organized environment and assists with supply inventory and unit coordination.
• Delivers and picks up items across departments and supports a collaborative team.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient care.

Job Description

• Obtains and records pain rating, weight, height, intake and output, and finger stick blood glucose. Demonstrates efficiency with safety lights, turns, and positioning of patients to ensure correct body alignment and maintain skin integrity.
• Assists patients with ADLs, including passing meals, nourishments, and fresh water at bedside. Participates in hourly rounding and answers call lights in a timely manner. Reports changes in vital signs and patient status to appropriate staff.
• Maintains a clean, organized environment and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment. Follows directions of registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and managers. Supports the unit secretary by answering phones and directing patients and visitors.
• Delivers and picks up items from other departments and interacts with all ancillary departments. Completes other duties as assigned and proactively anticipates the needs of other team members. Other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]

Work Experience

• 1+ medical terminology or unit clerk experience [Preferred]
• 12-lead EKG experience [Preferred]
• EMT or Paramedic experience [Preferred]
• Vacular Sheath pull training /experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications
