Job summary

County Ambulance is seeking a Basic Life Support Technician to respond with a volunteer crew to emergencies, provide first-aid and on-scene and en-route care, monitor vital signs, and follow EMT protocols.

You must hold EMT or EMT-D certification, be able to drive an ambulance, complete prehospital reports, and stay calm under pressure; you will be supervised by the Director of E-911 Communications and the Emergency Services Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and EMT or EMT-D certification.
• EMT or EMT-D certification required for the position.
• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and patient assessment protocols.

Responsibilities

• Respond with a volunteer ambulance crew to emergencies to provide first-aid and on-scene care.
• Obtain information from patients or bystanders to assess medical history and symptoms.
• Complete full medical assessments and report to receiving facilities.
• Assist with lifting, loading, and transporting patients.
• Administer EMS care including CPR, oxygen, medications as directed.
• Prepare pre-hospital care reports and inventory records.
