Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Advanced EMT in Lima to provide advanced pre-hospital care and transportation. The role requires maintaining certifications, operating ambulances safely, and delivering quality patient support in line with EMS scope of practice.

You will respond to calls, perform triage, administer medications as approved, manage airway procedures, and keep accurate reports. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with EMT certification and a valid driver's license, plus BLS and EVOC

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • EMT certification in state of practice required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS required within 1 year of hire; EVOC within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to calls and performs patient assessments and triage.
  • Performs IV Therapy and administers approved medications.
  • Performs advanced airway management per State EMS Scope of Practice.
  • Maintains reports and records; cares for vehicle and equipment.
  • Provides proper care and safe transport; serves as patient advocate.

EMT Advanced- LACP Lima
Job Summary:

The Advanced EMT will provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients in the pre-hospital environment and scenes at the Advanced EMT level of care defined by the State EMS scope of practice. The Advanced EMT will operate an ambulance in a safe and efficient manner. Advanced EMT will keep current on all required certifications and continuing education

Essential Functions:
  • Responds to calls and performs patient assessments and triage
  • Perform IV Therapy and administer approved medications
  • Performs advanced airway management per State EMS Scope of Practice
  • Participates/attends required trainings
  • Provides proper care, safe and efficient transport
  • Maintains reports and records
  • Cares for vehicle and equipment
  • Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights
  • Serves as a patient advocate

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Vocational/Technical Degree (preferred)

Licensure/Certification:

Advanced EMT certification in state of practice (required)

BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required)

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association (required within 1 year of hire)

Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) (required within 3 months of hire)

Experience:

1 year experience with incident-free driving (required)

1-3 years of experience (preferred)

Training

Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within one year of hire (required)
