Job summary

MedEx is expanding into South Carolina and seeks qualified EMTs/Paramedics to join our Rock Hill team. You will transport patients safely by ambulance and deliver quality care enroute, while documenting care in the patient records.

You will also handle paperwork and keep the vehicle stocked and ready for the next transport. We require a High School diploma or GED, current EMT/Paramedic certification (or ability to obtain one), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a drug test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current state EMT/Paramedic certification or ability to obtain one.
• Valid State Driver’s License is required.
• Driving record must comply with company safety policies.
• Must be physically able to meet job demands and pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely in an ambulance to and from medical appointments.
• Provide quality patient care while enroute to receiving facility.
• Document medical care provided to patients in the EHR system.
• Obtain necessary signatures and paperwork for each transport.
• Operate MedEx vehicles in compliance with state law and company policies.
• Communicate with dispatch about location, patient status and related information.
• Maintain ambulance and equipment, ensuring readiness for next transport.
• Assist with office duties and continuing education as required.

Job Duties:

• Transports patients safely in an ambulance to and from medical appointments.
• Provides quality patient care while enroute to the receiving facility.
• Thoroughly documents medical care given to patients in EHR system.
• Obtains necessary signatures and paperwork for each transport.
• Operates MedEx vehicles while complying with South Carolina State Law and company policies.
• Communicates with regularly with dispatch team regarding location, patient status, and other relevant information.
• Demonstrates the ability to safely lift the stretcher (must be able to lift and carry 125 pounds)
• Upon request provides assistance to the receiving medical facility staff.
• Maintains ambulance in efficient operating condition
• Ensures that the ambulance is clean, washed and kept in a neat orderly condition
• Determines that vehicle is in proper mechanical condition by performing daily check off sheets and reporting known issues.
• Inventory, replace, and clean supplies and equipment after each use.
• Ensures equipment is in a state of readiness and reports repair of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Makes careful check of all equipment so that the ambulance is ready for the next run.
• Assists in completing any office duties, which may include cleaning office and living space.
• Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical control, licensing or certifying agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current state EMT/Paramedic Certification or able to obtain one.
• Possess a valid State Driver’s License.
• Driving record in compliance with MedEx Safety and Driving policy.
• Must be physically able to meet the demands of the position.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
