Job summary

Global Medical Response is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to respond to medical calls and provide high-quality patient care and customer service. The EMT will follow protocols, document care, and work within company policies to deliver safe, efficient service.

The role requires state EMT licensure in California, a valid CA driver’s license, and CPR certification. This is a part-time position with a 12-hour shift pattern and a wage range of $19.65–$23.18 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CA Driver's License required.
  • Ambulance Driver's License required.
  • State EMT license (CA) required.
  • CPR Card for Health Care Providers required.
  • K4 driving record must be current.
  • ICS courses IS-100/200/700/800 completed.

Responsibilities

  • Follows and maintains familiarity with evolving medical protocols and SOPs.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
  • Maintains documentation of patient billing information and services rendered.
  • Operates medical equipment (gurney, airway equipment, IVs, splints, bandages) as needed.
  • Communicates with patients, family, bystanders, and hospital staff with empathy and professionalism.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance and delivers high quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in the most expedient, professional, safe, caring, and cost effective manner possible within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and Company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Follows and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policies.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
  • Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
  • Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • CA Drivers' License
  • Ambulance Driver's License (from DMV)
  • Medical Examiner's Certificate (MCSA-5875 and MCSA-5876)
  • State of California EMT license
  • CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
  • K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV(less than 30 days old)
