Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to perform patient evaluation and care within the New Mexico scope. The role involves monitoring patients, delivering interventions such as CPR, oxygen, and wound care, and documenting in the patient record.

You will collaborate with physicians and staff, support varied shifts, and access tuition reimbursement, safety programs, and loan forgiveness.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT course is required.
• Current NM EMS Bureau EMT license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to type 20 wpm preferred.
• Basic MS Windows skills preferred.
• Medical Examiners certification

Responsibilities

• Monitors and cares for patients and collects information for documentation in the patient record.
• Transports and monitors patients; provides simple patient teaching.
• Performs interventions such as oxygen administration, CPR, defibrillation, splinting, bleeding control and wound dressing.
• Maintains positive communications with physicians, staff and other agencies.
• Organizes care to support team quality.

Perform all functions of patient evaluation and assessment within the New Mexico approved scope of practice. Perform patient care procedures and interventions as dictated by the New Mexico scope of practice. Responsible for the delivery of quality care to patients under varied conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors and cares for patients and collects information for documentation in the patient record. Transports and monitors patients. Provides simple patient teaching
• Performs in scope interventions such as oxygen administration, CPR, defibrillation, splinting, bleeding control and wound dressing,
• Maintains positive communications and collaboration with other agencies, physicians, and staff regarding the history, current condition, and treatments rendered for those patients in his or her care
• Organizes care in a manner that contributes to the overall quality of the team.
• Performs other functions as required
• Performs department specific functions as detailed in the summary of department specific duties

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions is required.
• Completion of the formal Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) course is required.
• Current license issued by the State of New Mexico Emergency Medical Service Bureau, as an Emergency Medical Technician is required.
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
• Current, valid New Mexico driver s license is required. Age requirement is 18
• Ability to type 20 wpm preferred. Basic MS Windows computer skills preferred.
• Medical Examiners certification
