Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time EMS Attendant for the Department: 36215 Floyd EMS - Ambulance Services: Non Emergency Passengers. This PRN position involves patient care, safety, and efficient transport of ill and injured patients, under Medical Control Physician supervision.

You will perform documentation, maintain certifications, and keep vehicles ready for service, with schedule including various days and possible nights.

Qualifications

• Current EMS certification/licensure and ongoing education.
• Ability to follow Medical Control guidance via radio or direct consultation.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.

Functions asamemberofthetransportteamand isresponsibleforthecareofill and injured patients.Providespatientcarewhile promoting safetyandefficiency.Performsunderthedirect supervision oftheMedicalControlPhysician,eitherbycontinuousradiocontactordirect consultation.Maintains necessarycertifications/licensures,skills,continuing educationand completecompetencychecks asrequired.Maintainsvehicles in amissionreadystatus.

Essential Functions

• Completesskillscheckin atimelymannerwith accuracy.
• Maintains clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status. Accountable to check and verify established minimum transport vehicle supply levels, restock and clean at the beginning of the shift and as needed throughout the shift.
• Provides accurateand legible documentationofpatientcarewithattentionto detail that accuratelyreflectsassessmentand interventions.Ensuresthatchartisplacedinpatient’smedicalrecordin atimelymanner.
• Providesqualitypatientcareandeducationin accordancewith policies and state regulations asapprovedbyMedicalDirectorandprofessionalstandardsofcare.
• FollowsguidelinesandproceduresindependentlywhenMedicalControlisnotavailableviaradio ordirectconsultation.
• Assistswith otheractivitieswhich includes butnotlimitedtopublicrelationsand marketing activitieswhen needed.
• Followssafetyguidelinesandprocedures;ensuresseatbeltsarewornbycrewand passengers.
• Follows vehicle assignmentsasneeded/directedbydepartment.Maintainflexibilitywithvehicle assignmentsincluding the understandingthatvehicle assignmentsaresubjectto changefromapostedschedule based upontheneedsofthedepartment.
• Drive in accordancewith AtriumHealth policyaswell as localandstateregulations.
