Physical Requirements

This position requires performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working at heights above four feet; and exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; loud noises; temperature extremes; and blood‑borne/airborne pathogens; intermittently requires working in confined spaces; and occasionally requires job‑related travel (less than 10% of time), exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.

Shift

Must be able to work three 12‑hour shifts (8:45 a.m. – 9:15 p.m.) per week; will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The AEMT at UKHC is primarily responsible for providing high‑quality medical care during interfacility ambulance transports. They ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients, adhering to established protocols and maintaining a strong commitment to patient and team safety, service excellence, and professional development. This position will be limited to ambulance operations and will not operate within the emergency department.
