Job summary

Harnett County Emergency Medical Services seeks a dedicated EMS professional to perform basic-level life support, stabilization, and transport for patients. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, provide necessary medical treatment, and ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.

This is a Full-Time position with 24-hour shifts and scheduled overtime. Requires a High School diploma, NC EMT Certification, and a valid NC driver's license; prior EMT experience is desirable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required, EMT desirable.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Possession of a current Emergency Medical Technician Certification from NC.
• Possession of other applicable certifications such as BLS, EVOC or Haz-Mat may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls; transport patients to medical facilities and appointments.
• Drive and operate a vehicle to travel as needed.
• Administer basic-level life support; monitor patient status and vital signs; assist in setting up IVs.
• Sign chain of custody forms for narcotics and maintain custody.
• Input patient information into computer; document services for billing and accountability.
• Inspect and test response vehicles and equipment; maintain inventory; sanitize equipment.
