Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our Night shift team. This role supports an award-winning hospital dedicated to quality, compassion and community in National City, CA.

You will assess and manage medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or physician, assist with patient care, and help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment for all individuals served.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic EMT Training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS and PALS certificates required within 30 days upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision.
• Assist in patient care within the scope of practice and under ED RN/Physician direction.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist in ensuring quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $23.00 to $26.89. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
