Plaquemines Parish Government is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) to stand ready to respond to emergency calls around the clock. The role involves driving ambulances, performing patient care, coordinating resources, and ensuring scene safety while documenting all actions.

The position is full-time and located parish-wide. Applicants must have EMT-B certification and will be evaluated on readiness, accuracy of documentation, and teamwork in emergency centers.

SUMMARY OF JOB: Under general supervision, performs rescue and emergency medical care functions. Work involves standing ready to respond twenty-four hours a day to emergency calls within a short period of time which includes but is not limited to responding to emergency assignment; performing duties as outlined by Emergency Medical Technician Basic certification; driving and maneuvering emergency vehicles; remaining vigilant in regards to scene assessment and safety; requesting, routing, and coordinating resources; managing emergency scenes and communication; performing inventory, stocking, and cleaning of equipment/unit; performing documentation; staffing the emergency center; etc. Reports to the EMS Manager and performs all tasks assigned.
