Job summary

Pacifica-services is seeking an EMS Senior Technician in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will assist the EMS Supervisor and conduct field work to maintain HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). Minimum qualifications include three years of HVAC DDC technician experience and relevant education. The position offers a salary range of $111,000 to $121,000 annually.

Job description

The EMS Senior Technician will assist the EMS Supervisor in the duties and perform field work to help maintain the district HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). The EMS Senior Technician will work with the LAUSD technical quality support team (TQST) to repair and maintain the HVAC DDC front end EMS and use them to encourage preventive maintenance, identify potential energy conservation measures, and suggest facility improvements.

Required Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience as an HVAC DDC technician
• Understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC DDC maintenance issues
• Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.

Required Education

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology)

OR

Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with multiple DDC manufacturers including Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane
• Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases
• Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
• Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS
