Job summary

EMSA in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Safety Coordinator (Healthcare/EMS) to lead safety programs within the Risk Management Department. You will develop training, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive incident reporting and risk reduction for staff and operations.

The role requires a safety/HSE degree, OSHA/NFPA/DOT regulatory knowledge, and familiarity with infection control and workplace hazards. This is an on-site, full-time position reporting to the Risk Manager.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in safety/HSE or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and DOT regulations applicable to EMS.
• Experience or familiarity with infection control practices and workplace safety hazards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive safety training program including hazard assessment and risk mitigation.
• Develop and conduct new hire safety orientation and annual safety training aligned with regulatory standards.
• Review incident reports for proper completion and prepare documents for regulatory reporting.
• Monitor safety trends and implement strategies to reduce risk and prevent injuries.
• Coordinate health and safety council/committees and support immunization and wellness programs.
• Develop and maintain safety policies, audit practices, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct safety audits to ensure OSHA and NFPA compliance.
