Job Address: 600 Trail Ridge Rd, Albion, IN 46701. Lynx EMS is recruiting an Operations Manager to direct operations at our Newburgh, IN location.
Responsibilities
- Meet with Operations Supervisors daily to assess and review day‑to‑day operations, review and approve staffing, scheduling, and related issues.
- Provide counseling and assistance to employees, reviewing and assessing all work performed throughout the day, regardless of shift.
- Act as liaison between Operations Supervisors, hospitals, nursing facilities, and the Regional Manager of Operations.
- Supply briefings and updates to the Regional Manager of Operations weekly and in real time as needed.
- Identify and work to improve administrative and operational functions for Lynx EMS, LLC.
- Review activities of emergency medical staff, provide leadership and guidance on various issues, and document guidance in written form.
- Review and recommend changes to existing policies and procedures, assist in creation of new policies.
- Review requests for additional staffing and equipment, provide input and recommend needs for budget purposes to the Regional Manager of Operations.
- Maintain a full‑time regular work schedule and verify staffing for all shifts is met.
- Participate in a full range of human resources responsibilities, including interviewing and selection process.
- Write, receive, review, and approve staff reports, records, and related paperwork.
- Investigate incidents involving assigned units, communicate with Operations Supervisors and Regional Manager on status of units and other problems.
- Submit reports on all incidents, accidents, and work‑related injuries and exposures.
- Assure payroll reports are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Inspect all assigned stations, vehicles, and equipment for cleanliness and general maintenance.
- Attend external and internal meetings as may be necessary.
- Remain accessible by phone while off duty.
- Perform any other tasks assigned or required to ensure operational integrity.
Qualifications / Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of EMS policies and procedures, and hold current state EMT licensing and certification.
- Knowledge of techniques, requirements, and activities associated with emergency medical response and protocols.
- Knowledge of inventory maintenance and control.
- Knowledge of basic principles of management and supervision.
- Knowledge of basic record keeping, records and case management.
- Skill in working under stressful situations, receiving and assessing information, and making educated decisions for appropriate response.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relations with staff, hospital staff, facility staff and the general public.
- Skill in effectively managing staff, supervisors, equipment, facilities and operations across multiple site locations.
- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
- Skill in effectively communicating in both oral and written form.
Physical Requirements
Good physical fitness with ability to function effectively in all different types of environments. Able to lift and carry heavy, bulky items, equipment, materials, supplies and people weighing up to 250 lbs in unpredictable weather conditions in various environments. There is risk of bodily harm and potential exposure to infectious diseases, toxic fumes and chemicals, as this position may require the employee to work as a crew member.
Additional Duties
- Ensure operation site is compliant with all policies, procedures, and standards as outlined by the city, state, federal, and Lynx EMS regulations.
- Ensure operation is responding to calls and sites as outlined within dispatch protocol.
- Determine compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Identify and correct deficiencies both with staffing and dispatch via reporting and audit metrics.
- Oversee and/or participate in full range of human resources responsibilities.
- Verify all EPCR reports have been submitted and signed off for billing.
- Verify any trailing documentation has been uploaded and attached to the appropriate trip.
- Produce daily or weekly reports to the Regional Manager of Operations as required.
- Provide daily attendance and run volume reports, and any other additional requirements as set forth by the Regional Manager of Operations.
