Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City is hiring an EMS Nurse Coordinator RN to ensure a courteous, timely handoff for patients transported by EMS and to coordinate with the clinical nurse coordinator to plan arrivals and manage EMS surges.

When offloading is light, you will oversee the EMS lounge and stroke care area, assist clinical staff, and engage with the EMS PPR Director on initiatives for the EMS Growth Governance Council.

Qualifications

• ACLS required within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Licensed as an RN (RN License).
• Registered Nurse Diploma.
• PALS or equivalent pediatric life support required within 30 days.
• ATCN or TNCC required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Greet and receive patients and EMS personnel in a dedicated area.
• Collaborate with the CNC to plan inbound arrivals and manage EMS surges.
• Oversee EMS lounge and stroke care area; assist clinical staff.
• Contribute to downtime duties and continuous patient flow improvements.
• Liaise with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and governance.
